Matmor's Towns of Britain

On the 18/01 2013 Flaxholme Guinea was mated to Flaxholme Aureus ("Isbjørn"). The litter was born on the 10/02 2013: 16 little ones of which one was quite tiny. There were seven boys and nine girls. Even though Guinea belonged to me she was living with HeleneH who had her on a lease. (HeleneH is now the owner.) The litter was born in HeleneH's home, but the follow up will be Matmor's responsibility. According to local custom they receive Matmor's name as prefix. Aureus lives with Heidi, who co-owns him with Matmor. There is a kitten diary with further information about parents and the ratlings. The kittens from this litter was first and foremost offered to those who had helped finance the import of rats from England, one way or another. Subsequently other NTF breeders and people accepting lease contracts were given priority. However, with 16 kittens born there were rat friends to spare for ordinary sales. All the kittens are now either sold or leased. The theme of the litter, Towns of Britain, was selected by HeleneH with the constraint: should be connected with Great Britain or with England.

Sex: male Owner: Asterix (on a lease for Matmor) Weight 184 g Behaviour to new cage mates: Brentwood found his place among the new cage mates right away. He has been hanging around with the adults and we have not noticed any kind of problems. Behaviour to humans: Brentwood is a little skittish, but enjoys a ride on the shoulders or a dive into the sweater. He often licks our fingers and appears to enjoy human contact.
Name: Cardiff Point on the nose. Slightly darker on the rump. He is always the first to come when I open the cage door. Behaviour to rats: Cardiff lives with his brother and gets along fine with him. He has not been introduced to other rats.

Behaviour to humans: Gets along with everyone. Active and inquisitive. Enjoys skin contact. Playful. Behaviour with rats: Lives with his brother and gets along fine with him. After a relatively short meeing on the sofa he was put in the cage with the big ones. Since then he has stayed there and been a part of the mischief. As an added bonus he has had a positive influence on Lynet, whose pubertal antics are gone. Now he spends his time playing with London instead. Behaviour to humans: He loves getting out of the cage. At introduction he told the others that he was not a pushower when they chased him, by pinching their noses! Playful, is allowed to turn the adults on the back. Behaviour to humans: relaxed and playful, accepts being cuddled when he rests.
